From taste-tingling tostadas, to hot jalapeños—there’s even chilli in the Margaritas—Touché Hombre is the home of heat. Spice doesn’t replace flavour though, rather works in sync to create some authentic dishes with a Melbourne twist.
Tangy chicken tostadas pack a punch, while sweet potato tacos offer a unique twist on traditional (pumpkin based) Mexican recipe.
The stand out dish is the twice-cooked lamb ribs, which has maintained its popularity, and held a firm and fast place on the Touché Hombre menu from its inception three years ago. We’re talking tender braised meat, flash fried to crispy perfection on the outside, and soft melt-in-your-mouth in the inside. It falls straight of the bone, with the fat dissolving on your tongue. Simply delicious, and a guaranteed must-order.
Not usually much of a drinker, the kaffir lime and chilli margarita found it’s way into my heart, matching perfectly with the subtle and fresh flavours of the market fish taco.
But above all else, the friendly down-to-earth staff at Touché Hombre make it a place to return to, rain hail or lots and lots of heat.
